Aesoland field note

4-player hunting squad

A hunt is one Adventurer, one locked weapon, and up to three other players. You can travel solo or fill a 4-player squad. Controller support is on. The phone build is the edition that ships.

Three classes

Every named Adventurer stays in one class. Assault is the damage line, Support keeps the squad up, and Disruptor shuts the monster down. A hunter does not swap class when the weapon stays locked.

01

Assault

Five named hunters are Assault. Midori keeps a Long Sword hidden in her shamisen, and some skills build her Spirit Gauge faster. Rhodes keeps a Hammer: charged attacks build energy, and some moves spend that energy on a heavy explosion. Pyro keeps a Great Sword and turns damage taken into burst. Luka keeps a Bow, and some skills add Thunder Coating that arcs through a target. Ouyang Varen keeps a Lance, builds Impetus, and spends it on harder thrusts. Charge Blade is a launch weapon with no named hunter on these cards, so an Assault seat is still one of these five.

02

Support

Four named hunters are Support. Haze keeps Dual Blades, can parry while in Archdemon Mode, and can spend the Demon Gauge on Crimson Fang Slash. Ryunosuke keeps a Long Sword, gains energy by eating in certain stances, and his Spirit Blade attacks hit harder after he is Well-fed. Arkaya keeps a Lance that builds Resolve, then spends all of it on a heavy blow and a large shield. Madelyn keeps a Bow, supports allies with medicines and Spores, and can detonate those Spores for damage and a boost.

03

Disruptor

Pepper and Raya are both Disruptor on the named cards, so the pair is not a three-way split by itself. Pepper keeps a Heavy Bowgun, and some skills send her into the air for rapid fire. Raya keeps Dual Blades, slips past attacks, and spends stamina to fill her Demon Gauge faster. She is also the hunter paid at the 10 million pre-registration tier. Luxheart keeps a Great Sword, uses Heat to switch stances, and can release a firework-like barrage. Keres keeps Dual Blades and chains rapid strikes into follow-ups. Freya is a Disruptor with a Great Sword, outside the 13 hunters on the global launch cards.

Four seats

A squad holds four Adventurers or fewer. Each seat is one locked hunter. One example squad puts Midori in Seat 1, Haze in Seat 2, Pepper in Seat 3, and Raya in Seat 4. That mix is one Assault, one Support, and two Disruptors. A squad does not need one of each class. An empty seat is still a legal hunt, down to solo.

Fated Adventurer is a separate roster entry. Class and weapon are both Any, so the entry does not add a fourth class beside Assault, Support, and Disruptor.

Buddies

Buddies use the same three class names, and a Buddy is not a player seat. Palico is Assault and journeyed to Aesoland with Adventurers. Trillan is Support and Rutaco is Disruptor. Both of those Buddies are native to the island. Rutaco builds with tools and Radiantite. Trillan supports with voice.

Controller

Controller support is on for the phone build. The Tokyo Game Show 2026 trailer shows the hunt. Launch weapons are Great Sword, Long Sword, Dual Blades, Hammer, Lance, Charge Blade, Heavy Bowgun, and Bow. Each named hunter keeps one of those weapons.
